Artist and poet, Eoghan O’Driscoll returns to Dublin with a new collection of paintings for his second solo Dublin exhibition at the Ireland Institute in March.

Eoghan is an abstract, expressionist painter who draws on his experience of mental health issues to produce vibrant works on a large scale. His body of work includes both portraiture and free flowing abstract pieces. With a deep understanding of the human condition, Eoghan’s work compels us to stop and reflect on what really matters.

A Kilkenny native, O’Driscoll studied art at Kilkenny College and went on to study Creative Arts at the University of Glamorgan. He also studied American Poetry at UCD and has 5 collections of poetry, including ‘The Book of Cuckoo’ (2019). His exhibitions include an annual show at the AKA Festival in Kilkenny, a solo exhibition at Framexperts in Ranelagh and group exhibitions in Dublin and at the Crawford Gallery, Cork. He was featured in the Brent Pope documentary ‘Inside’ which focused on Outsider Art. He lives and works in Kilkenny, where he has a full time studio.

The Ireland Institute is an Historical and Cultural Centre located in what was the family home of Partick and Willie Pearse.
